Food Bank Operations Assistant
Through United Way BC Work Experience Opportunities Grant (WEOG)
Are you passionate about food security and community support? The Northern BC Graduate
Student Society (NBCGSS) at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in
Prince George is seeking the right candidate to join our team for this meaningful 200-hour paid
work experience placement!
✨ WHAT WE OFFER:
💰 Stipend of up to $3,000 (This is a stipend, not a wage or salary)
📚 Hands-on nonprofit operations experience
⏰ Flexible schedule (8-10 hours/week) – one required weekly time: Thursdays 11am-3pm
🚗 Transportation support provided (taxi vouchers or mileage reimbursement)
🎯 Real impact on student food security at UNBC
📅 Position open until filled | Must complete by March 31, 2026
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
🥫 Assist Food Bank Manager with operations and weekly food pickups from Salvation Army
(Thursdays 11am-3pm)
🌍 Support culturally inclusive food security programming
🤝 Help coordinate partnerships with campus and community organizations
📈 Gain valuable experience working in the nonprofit sector
✅ WHO CAN APPLY:
Must be receiving OR qualified to receive BC Employment Assistance (BCEA), Disability
Assistance (PWD/PPMB), Hardship Assistance, AND legally able to work in BC.
